 Things To Do In Narromine

Narromine Aerodrome Tourist Park is the place to stay.

When deciding where to stay, it is hard to go past the Narromine Aerodrome Tourist Park and Motel.  It’s in a great location to base yourself and visit the many local and surrounding tourist destinations. Narrromine is only 30 minutes from Dubbo.

Narromine, NSW, is a hidden gem that offers a wealth of things to see and do. Whether you're a nature lover, history buff, or foodie, there's something for everyone in this charming town. See below a few highlights.

 
Naromine Aviation Museum

Narromine Aviation Museum

When in Narromine a visit to the local Narromine Aviation Museum is at the top of the list.  The Museum brings to life the aviation story of Narromine.  In its prime, many pilots learnt to fly here and it has had some very famous aviators grace the town with their presence. Narromine is also the home of the Wright Flyer Replica, reported to be the only one that still exists in the world that has flown.

The museum is open Wednesday to Monday from 10 am to 4 pm and is manned by local volunteers who would love to see you.

Narromine Gliding Club

On weekends the Narromine Gliding Club operates and joy flights are available in gliders. This is a terrific experience. Contact the club at www.narromineglidingclub.com.au for any information regarding gliding. 

Each Sunday night the gliding club has a BBQ. This is top food at a good price and you are welcome to attend.

Narromine Aero Club

Narromine Aero Club is the oldest regional Aero club in Australia and has a Bistro and Bar open Friday nights. 

Joy flights in ultra lights are also available by appointment at the Aerodrome.

Narromine Wetlands

The Narromine Wetlands, located to the south of town, are a hub for nature lovers and the perfect location for a picnic and birdwatching. Boasting an array of open spaces and reserves dotted along the Macquarie River, visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy the abundance of wildlife calling the region home.                        

Saturdays at 8am you’re welcome to join in the Narromine Wetlands Parkrun, a free, fun and friendly weekly community event. Walk, jog, run the 5k or spectate – it's up to you!

Narromine Craft Shop

Narromine Craft shop sells local hand made products.  It is a good place to find the home made pickles, cakes, bags, rugs, clothes, you name it, its there.

Macquarie River

Narromine is a top fishing spot with many reserves. The Macquarie River is very picturesque, with its sprawling willows and huge gum trees. Now part of the New Macquarie River Trails Initiative - see www.rivertrails.com.au

 Dolly Parton Festival

The Narromine Dolly Parton Festival is an annual event held on the October long weekend. Dolly fans converge on the town from far and wide, all here for a honky tonkin’ hoot of a time.

Narromine Golf Club       

Located less than 1km from the CBD, the Narromine Golf Club is conveniently located right next door to us here at the Aerodrome Tourist Park. Boasting a well-maintained, fully irrigated sand green course, the 18-hole course is an easy walk for golfers of all ages. 

Narromine Golf Club hosts a number of events throughout the year such as the Monthly Medal and a variety of Stableford and Ambrose events.
